Dolphins Dolphins Dolphins

I know that it's a cliche to say how intelligent the dolphins are or that they really love people. And in reality that they are entertainers in addition to being the world's aqua acrobatics. However, in my interactions and observations with them it's so obvious how much they love us and want to be with us. I have been in the water with over 60 dolphins and a boat may approach quite a bit from shore that's not allowed to go into the bay and a distance out. And before you know it the dolphins are signaling to go in the direction of the boat almost immediately. They go over to the boat, do a few jumps, and spend some time entertaining the crowd while everyone is oohing and aahing. And then they come back to join us again! It's so fun to get that kind of confirmation. And believe me, these guys are amazing swimmers! As I have said. Sometimes they can suspend themselves and you can snap a hundred photos without them moving. And then sometimes they move so fast that you know they have somewhere to go that you aren't invited! The babies tend to wave goodbye with a flip in the air.
Dolphins listen to your heart. They listen to your intentions. They feel your fears. They feel your love. They feel your anxiety. The more you expand. The more they can expand your heart. The dolphins are here for us to observe a universal love. They are here for us to connect with something beyond this world in a very tangible way. They are here for us to share in a oneness without judgment. Being in their presence I know that I feel transported to a place of great peace and great joy. It's tangible. It's real for me. It's the easiest way for me to breathe deeply and connect to love and peace and joy. Now who wouldn't want to feel that way?

Dolphin Weave of Love

I have had the privilege of getting to know the dolphins quite intimately. There have been moments that I have been so filled with excitement that my body has felt electrified. The gift of getting to know the dolphins in mind, body and spirit is amazing. I am so grateful for all of my experiences. When I first had the feeling about wanting to know the dolphins I had no idea the journey I would be taken on and that it would be a significant part of my life purpose. I just know that I am deeply intertwined in the dolphin weave of life. There is no denying that. It's impossible to avoid them and they just keep showing up. I dream about pink dolphins. I see dolphins in my bed when I wake up in the morning. I just know that I am committed to my dolphin family and whatever I can do to communicate their heart centered love and raise the vibration of love in each of us is what I am going to do.

When I hear their language I know that there are different tones. Some days the sounds in the water are so loud that I almost have to cover my ears the vibration is so intense. And then there are days when their sonar is off and you wouldn't even know a dolphin is in the water. It's exciting when they are singing and dancing and playing. Then you know they are sending messages, whether to me or to each other or just exclaiming their joy. It's just exciting that they have something to say!

The vibration of love and joy is hard to miss. There's a feeling of being enveloped in something so bright and shiny, so intangible but so powerful. When I am in the dolphin energy I know that sometimes I get excited and sometimes I just quiet myself so that I can simply feel the love that is all around me. I have had dozens of dolphins shoot up from nowhere just a couple of feet from me. I stay calm and just say thank you. It's a blessing beyond words.

One time while I was in the ocean the waves were so wild that it would have been impossible to see a dolphin because the waters were just splashing me. I saw some guys with motorized scooters swimming with the dolphins. I really don't think the dolphins liked that experience. And then suddenly 2 dolphins were right next to me. When I was beginning to understand dolphin behavior I thought that was odd. However, in observing them over and over again I realize that the dolphins know what they are doing. They will come say hello when they want to and when they don't they won't be anywhere to be found.
There are days that they play "hide and seek." One moment they are here and then they are there and then they are 5 feet from shore. They may swim swiftly by you and you never see them again. You couldn't catch them if you were an olympic swimmer. And then there are days that they will stay within such close proximity weaving in and out that it would be impossible to avoid them if you started swimming. They spin, they twirl, they flip, they play, they are saying hello. And sometimes they actually suspend themselves and just stay still as still as I am on land and I stay as still as possible. You wouldn't believe it until you see it. And because it has happened more than once to me I just stop myself completely to be sure that this is actually happening. Now that's amazing!

So hello from the vibration of the dolphin kingdom, the place where love flows and joy reigns.

My Dolphin Journey

In October 2007 I had a very strong intention of being in the water with the dolphins. I had spoken with people have been doing this for years and somehow it eluded me. I had seen them many times from boats. And one time I was on a snorkel boat and we were in the water and the dolphins came to swim with us. I didn't know what to do. It was fun, but it was random.

In October I went to buy a wetsuit top and a new snorkel. I listened to dolphin and whale music. I meditated. I just wanted to be in the water with them and feel what it felt like to be free as a dolphin. To be one with them.

I got to the water's edge to get in. The very first time I went in the dolphins came. It was so magical. I was a little nervous, there wasn't anyone around. I didn't know what to do. It was a big ocean for me to be there! I had never gone out so far before. It was exhilarating to know that they heard me and that they made a dream come true. And many more times after that!

However, I do know that many times after that first experience I have had dolphins swim with me for long periods of time. Sometimes one dolphin, sometimes a couple of dolphins and sometimes pods of 50-60. I have had dolphins suspend themselves next to me. Here's one of those photos. I completely stopped and made sure I was stopped. And the dolphins were still there. This went on for at least a minute, maybe longer. And this particular group of dolphins did it again. It was amazing. They just stop mid-stream. The other pod swam by fairly quickly and this particular pod of dolphins just stayed by me as they posed for the camera!

One time this year in 2009 I remember a moment that I will never forget. A friend of mine who is very in tune with the dolphins said that she called in the pods. She was not kidding. There were about 100. It didn't matter where you were the dolphins came. Sometimes 20, 30, and sometimes all of the groups. They were jumping. They were singing. They were playing with the boats. It was clear that they wanted to be with us. It was obvious that there was a huge dolphin party and I was invited. Let me tell you...if you ever get an invitation to a dolphin party, accept the invitation! It's a party you will remember for a lifetime.
